Group chat - #Slack

We use the group chat tool 'Slack' so everyone who wants to opt-in to our community chat can easily communicate with each other. Also, as your Organisers give up their time freely to make your snow experience as great as possible, its awesome to only use the one tool for chat. Before we standardised we had to check meetup messages, snapchat, fb messenger, whatsapp, hipchat, line, hangouts, telegram, etc., which made it very easy to miss important things.

The choice of tool is usually scoped by the following criteria

1. It works well on both iPhone and Android
2. It is not overly noisy and has the ability to mute notifications
3. It has the ability to have different spaces to communicate about particular topics (ie a room for Perisher and a separate room for Thredbo so you don't get info about the place you aren't riding)
